Institutional Developmet Cooperation between the National Audit Office of Kosovo and the Swedish National Audit Office

For KNAO to be a SAI working in accordance with international standards (ISSAI).

Specific project objectives:

• To ensure a leadership with integrity, competence and compassion
• Toensure capacity and knowledge to produce reader-friendly performance audit reports of sufficient quality that add value to decision makers;
• To ensure a sustainable performance audit function with effective audit processes;
• To ensure an effective management of Human Resourcesto fulfil the mandate of the SAI;
• To develop Kosovo NAO’s capacity to perform Compliance Audit in line with its mandate and ISSAIs –ensuring effective and efficient compliance audit processes;
• To fill the gaps in the approach and methodology for Financial Audit in line with ISSAIs, –ensuring effective and efficient financial audit processes.
• To establish a coordinated and well managed communication, internally and externally, in an effective way;
• To strengthen and further develop communication with Legislature and Executive as well as other stakeholders;
• To ensure improvement of KNAO operations in line with ISSAIs (through other activities); and
• To ensure improvement of the annual planning and strategic planning of the KNAO activities and to secure connections between the two plans and processes.
