This project responded in part to the SAI’s request under the 2011 Global Call for Proposals. Other elements of the original proposal were incorporated into the support project led by the European Commission.
Capacity building at SAACB with focus on Performance auditing, management and leadership, Quality Assurance, Communication, Planning and follow up.
The first phase was extended to December 2017. Second phase of the project January 2018 to December 2021 was extended until 31 Dec 2022. Total budget 2018-2022: approx 1 000 000 dollar (250 000 dollar/year)

Assessment of continued bilateral cooperation with SAACB in a third phase 2023 has been finalised. The Swedish NAO has accepted SAACB's request to continue the bilateral cooperation in a third phase. Due to the ongoing conflict, planning of the third phase has been put on hold.
