Support for the Tuvalu audit office
DFAT funds an International Adviser to the Auditor General’s office to build and strengthen the role of the Auditor General’s office to conduct audits in a timely manner as well as improving the quality of the audit reports and follow-up mechanisms on issues highlighted in the Audit reports. The Adviser has been very instrumental in boosting the capacity of local staff to perform financial and performance audits of Whole of Government Accounts, local governments accounts and some public enterprises. The Adviser has also been supporting Tuvalu to liaise with INTOSAI regarding the audit work that is relevant for Tuvalu.
