GSAI Tajikistan – Phase 1 peer support project 2023-2025
The Global SAI Accountability Initiative (GSAI) aims to mobilize effective and well coordinated support to Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in challenging contexts by:
– enabling the SAIs to enhance their capacities and performance through scaled-up, SAI-led and strategically based support.
– establishing mechanisms to ensure projects are developed in partnership between the SAI, donors and providers of support.
The following parties will collaborate to plan a project together:
– Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Tajikistan, as Project lead
– Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as Main technical partner
– The INTOSAI Development Initiative, as Financial Management Partner
The final role and involvement of the partners in a project will be decided after the project planning phase, aimed at completion by the second quarter of 2023.
In accordance with the GSAI’s objectives, the partners commit themselves to:
1) Work together to develop a project for enhancing the capacity and performance of SAI Tajikistan, and secure its funding. That includes appropriate
planning activities, such as conducting a joint baseline assessment, establish online collaboration, meet physically for deeper understanding and contribute
to effective coordination mechanisms with other relevant partners (the SAI Support Group).
2) Prepare its own organization for collaboration in the project, including staff dedicated for activities.
3) By the end of the second quarter of 2023, present a project plan which lays down the expected results, resources, roles and governance of the project.
4) This Memorandum is not an international treaty, and therefore does not bear the consequences arising from international obligations.
