Institutional development cooperation between the Swedish National Audit Office and the National Audit Authority of Cambodia (Sustainability phase 2019-2020)

The Swedish NAO’s cooperation with the Supreme Audit Institution in Cambodia, the National Audit Authority (NAA), was established in 2011 and focuses mainly on strengthening NAA’s capacity to conduct financial and performance audit in compliance with international standards. In 2019-2020, the cooperation project has entered a concluding Sustainability Phase, with focus on consolidating results that have been achieved.

Performance audit has been introduced in Cambodia the quality assurance capacity has been developed as well as the capacity to conduct internal training in financial audit. In order to strengthen NAA’s institutional capacity and to make the results from the cooperation sustainable, the Swedish NAO has also given support in strategic planning.
