The Global Fund- CREFIAF: Projet d’appui a la surveillance des subventions liees aux initiatives mondiales en matiere de sante (PASSIMS)
The project objective is to improve the capacity of national accountability systems in French-speaking sub-Saharan African countries to monitor country grants allocated by The Global Fund and Gavi. this project is co-funded by The Global Fund and Gavi as part of their strategy to more and more rely on country financial management systems including the oversight functions.
The general observation is that SAIs within the French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa countries still remain behind on issues of transparency of health programs linked to the global health initiatives. More precisely, none of the twenty-three (23) SAIs of CREFIAF carry out annual audits of the Global Fund or GAVI grants. To reverse this trend, the Global fund and GAVI have defined the strategic objectives of promoting the use of national systems and supporting public health programs in countries where CREFIAF member SAIs are located.
This is a two (02) funding aiming to support SAIs while delivering their mandate and enhance collaboration with the Global fund and GAVI.
