SPMR ACT II

The program’s objective is to strengthen SAIs’ governance and independence, allowing them to more confidently engage with external stakeholders and exert a positive influence on public sector accountability and integrity. Good governance and independence are interrelated elements a SAI needs to have in place to contribute to effective oversight and accountability. The program therefore adopts an integrated approach of leveraging different elements within the INTOSAI Development Initiatives (IDI) portfolio to 1) strengthen strategic management of SAIs, 2) strengthen SAI independence and support them in collaborating with other institutional accountability and integrity actors, 3) provide targeted in-depth support to accelerate performance of a limited number of SAIs and 4) improve SAI capacity to develop and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including donors.
